Stourbridge FC are pleased to confirm the signing of former Blackburn Rovers youngster Devarn Green from Hednesford Town.

Green, 21, is a highly rated winger/striker from Birmingham and was with Burton Albion until he was 16.

Blackburn, then of the Championship, paid an undisclosed fee for his services in 2013 following a two-week trial and Green subsequently signed a two-year professional deal a year later.

Green left Ewood Park at the end of the 2015/16 campaign and subsequently spent time on trial at Cardiff City in the summer of 2016 before signing for our Evo-Stik Premier rivals Hednesford in mid-August this year.

He appeared four times for the Pitmen, scoring once, and some Glassboys fans may remember him from our 2-0 victory over Hednesford at the War Memorial Athletic Ground on September 4th.

The pacey forward opted to leave Keys Park after the recent change of management and will help fill the gap left by Brandon Hague, who will be out of action for around two months after suffering an ankle injury at Mickleover on Tuesday.

Green has signed for the Glassboys on non-contract terms and, subject to acceptance from the Evo-Stik League, will be eligible to play against Lancaster City tomorrow.

Welcome to Stourbridge, Devarn!
