The Football Association have announced the Step 1-4 constitutions for the 2015/16 season, and Stourbridge will remain in the Evo-Stik League.

With Marine's reprieve from relegation confirmed, the NPL Premier Division was over-subscribed, meaning that at least one club would have to be moved to either the Southern League or Isthmian League, and the Glassboys, being one of the most Southerly clubs in the Division were a possible candidate to make such a switch.

However, it has now been confirmed that King's Lynn Town will be transferred to the Southern League, with no other sideways transfers between the Northern Premier and Southern Leagues at Step 3.

Leaving the Premier Division are FC United of Manchester and Curzon Ashton (both promoted to the rebranded National League North), as well as relegated Belper Town (to Division 1 South), Trafford and Witton Albion (both to Division 1 North).

Meanwhile, newcomers to the Premier Division are Colwyn Bay and Hyde (both relegated from the Conference North), Salford City and Darlington 1883 (from Division 1 North), and Mickleover Sports and Sutton Coldfield Town (from Division 1 South).

Stourbridge have never previously played at Colwyn Bay, Hyde, Salford or Darlington, and of those clubs only Salford have visited the war Memorial Ground when the Glassboys ran out 6-0 winners in an FA Trophy tie in 2008/09. We have, of course, played Sutton Coldfield Town on numerous occasions in the Southern League and various Cup competitions, whilst we visited Mickleover for an FA Trophy tie in 2013/14, winning 2-1.

COLWYN BAY suffered relegation on the final day of last season after four seasons in Conference North. Prior to that they had won successive promotions from the NPL Division 1 North and Premier Division, both times via play-offs.

HYDE (known as Hyde United until 2010) were members of the Conference National Division for two seasons until 2014, but two traumatic seasons since then have seen them suffer back-to-back relegations.

SALFORD CITY are perhaps best known these days for being owned by members of Manchester United's "Class of 92", winning Division 1 North last season after seven largely unremarkable seasons at that level. Managed by the former Ramsbottom United pair of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley they eventually prevailed over Darlington to win the Division 1 North championship.

DARLINGTON 1883 are recognised as a "new" club by the FA after a new company purchased the assets of former Football League club Darlington FC in 2012 when the club was unable to agree terms with its creditors. However, it should be pointed out that many of Darlington's supporters dispute this and consider the "old" and "new" clubs to be one and the same. Forced to take a drop to Step 5 of the pyramid, Darlington won the Northern League at the first attempt and won the the NPL Division 1 North play-offs this season, beating Spennymoor Town and Bamber Bridge, having lost out at the same stage 12 months earlier.

MICKLEOVER SPORTS were previously members of the NPL Premier Division for two seasons between 2010 and 2012. After losing out in the Division 1 North play-offs in 2014, they emerged as comfortable winners of the Division this season to earn their promotion back to this level. Like Stourbridge, they share their ground with the local cricket club.

Stourbridge supporters will need little introduction to SUTTON COLDFIELD TOWN. The Royals were Southern League members from 1982 to 2010 and had many battles with the Glassboys during that time. Since switching to the NPL they have spent the last five seasons in Division 1 South, finishing one place outside the play-offs in three out of four seasons, before finally claiming a place this season, and then going on to beat Newcastle Town and Leek Town to earn promotion.
