In the latest interview with Gary, the Glassboys manager reflects on Netan Sansara's departure and looks forward to pre-season.

Slightly surprising news this week with Netan Sansara leaving the Club.

It's one of those things, really. Netan made a good start with us but perhaps didn't quite settle in and live up fully to that early promise. Sometimes that happens. I need 100% commitment from everybody, and we decided between us that perhaps it was for the best to go our separate ways. But I have to stress there is no animosity. I get on well with Netan and I wish him well for the future.

Any irons in the fire with regard to new signings?

I've spoken to a couple of players this week and we should hear within the next few days - hopefully it will be good news, but I won't be panicked or rushed. We've got a strong squad here and I'm looking for the right players to add to that.

Only a couple of weeks now to the first pre-season game at Bewdley...

It comes around quickly! The players report back for training next week, which gives us plenty of time to build up to that first match. Don't forget that our League season doesn't start until 16th August. If we were still in the Southern League it would have been 9th August, and I believe the Midland Alliance get under way on 2nd August, so you have to take that into account.

By and large, players look after themselves much better these days as well. Gone are the days of doing three weeks of slog to get rid of all the excess weight before you even show them a ball!

As I said last time, there will be fewer trialists this season and we'll be aiming to have the squad better prepared. We've learned from last season and we won't make the same mistakes.

Will you be approaching the Evo-Stik League any differently?

Not really. As I say, the squad is strong and we have to be confident in our own ability. I'm looking forward to it.

And this time next week, we'll be looking forward to the FA Cup Draw.

It would be great to have another run. I can remember last season in the dressing room at Evesham looking round at a squad with nine or ten players who were part of the previous run, and who wanted to do it again, and the next thing we knew we were back in the Second Round Proper and taking on Stevenage!

It's another thing that makes you realise the new season is getting closer. The work on the dressing rooms is coming on really well, the pitch is looking good and we can't wait to get going.
