New sponsor for the Southern League Cup announced

The Southern Football League is pleased to announce that the 2018/19 League Challenge Cup will be sponsored by City Security Services, providers of a customer focused professional security service.

City Security Services have a Head Office in London and a Regional Office in Cambridge. Their website can be viewed at https://www.city-security-services.co.uk/

James Mortimer, Director of City Security Services, said “City Security Services is passionate about all forms of sport as numerous employees of ours participate in various local sports. Football has and always will be the premier sport in the UK and as such the Southern League comprises of clubs that are rich in pedigree and sporting prowess. The Southern League Challenge Cup is unique in its history and City Security Services is proud to be the official sponsor of such a prestigious tournament.”

Founded in 1894, the Southern Football League is about to celebrate its 125th Anniversary, with its League Challenge Cup having been competed for since the 1932-33 season which was won by Plymouth Argyle Reserves.

The League Chairman, Terry Barratt, has thanked City Security Services for their Agreement to sponsor the League Cup for Season 2018-2019 and said, “I am delighted that City Security Services believe in the importance of sponsoring non-league football and see the League’s Challenge Cup as an important competition”.

The City Security Services Limited League Challenge Cup runs from September to April with highlights available to watch through YouTube channels and on a selection of Club websites.

Last season saw Premier Division Hitchin Town defeat Division One South Didcot Town 1-0 in a single leg final.

The prize money for 2018/19 is as follows:

Runners-up £2,000
Losing Semi Finalists £1,000
Losing Quarter Finalists £500
