With no fixture for the Glassboys there was plenty of action elsewhere as the play-off race comes to the boil...

It proved to be a relatively good day for Stourbridge, with only Hungerford Town of those teams immediately around us in the table winning. They came from a goal down at half time to beat Weymouth 2-1 at home.

Poole Town and Cambridge City both lost, Poole falling to defeat for the third time in four games as AFC Totton completed a 3-1 triumph at Testwood. An early goal after 3 minutes was enough to give Hitchin a 1-0 victory over Cambridge at Top Field.

Meanwhile, third-placed St Albans City held leaders Hemel Hempstead Town to a goal-less draw at Vauxhall Road, a result which allowed Chesham United, 3-0 winners at home to St Neots Town, to close the gap at the top to seven points with a game in hand. Chesham's win also means that the Glassboys can now finish no higher than 3rd in the table.

The Glassboys are not in action this midweek. Our next game is next Saturday, 12th April, at home to fast-improving AFC Totton. This will be our annual "Community Day" and will also see a re-union of our memorable 1973/74 League Title-winning and Welsh Cup Final team. Reduced admission prices will apply and there will be plenty going on as well as the match itself. More details will be announced here shortly.

And before then please do not forget Leon Broadhurst's Testimonal game tomorrow, Sunday 6th April, at Amblecote. Further details can be found via the link on the home page. Admission is £5 by programme (£1 for under 16s) and the game kicks off at 2.00 pm. The bar will be open from 12 noon and Stourbridge Under 14s will be taking on Hasbury Rangers, also at 12 noon, ahead of the main event.

Please come along to show your appreciation for Leon's service to Stourbridge FC, and to support his chosen charity, the Chadsgrove School for Disable Children in Bromsgrove.
