The Glassboys may not have made it all the way to the Emirates FA Cup Final, but the Club will feature on the big occasion at Wembley next Saturday!

Stourbridge’s record-breaking run to the Third Round of this season’s competition caught the imagination of the whole town, with Jack Duggan's memorable goal sealing a 1-0 win against Northampton Town in the Second Round, and the heroics in defeat on a remarkable afternoon at Wycombe Wanderers in front of over 2,000 supporters, when Dan Scarr's goal allowed us all to dream for a few minutes...

But our feats also grabbed national headlines, and Gary Hackett’s men were one of four clubs nominated by the Football Association for their FA Cup Giant-Killers Award this season.

On this occasion, Stour missed out, with the Award going to Vanarama National League Lincoln City, who knocked out Sky Bet Football League sides Oldham Athletic, Ipswich Town and Brighton & Hove Albion, and then won 1-0 away to Premier League Burnley before eventually bowing out 5-0 at Arsenal in the Quarter Finals.

However, the Glassboys, along with several other Clubs to have made their mark on the FA Cup this season, have received an invitation to the Cup Final for two representatives of the Club, and Chairman Andy Pountney and Vice Chairman Andy Bullingham will be there on the big day.

Vice Chairman Bullingham will also step out onto the Wembley turf in his Stourbridge shirt to join the communal singing of “Abide With Me” before kick-off, almost certainly another historic “First” for Stourbridge FC!

The match itself, between Arsenal and Chelsea, will see one of the Glassboys’ proud records tumble, however. At the time of writing the Glassboys are locked with the London duo, all three sides having won 28 FA Cup ties in the past eight seasons, more than any other clubs. Saturday’s winners will extend their record to 29 and will knock Stour off their shared perch.
