We are pleased to confirm the signing of former Walsall, MK Dons and Shrewsbury Town midfielder, Mark Wright.

The experienced Wright, 33, is also the son of former Glassboys star Evran Wright, who broke the club's all-time goal-scoring record for a single season in 1992/93, when he netted a fabulous 56 goals in all competitions to help the Glassboys memorably lift the Southern League Cup.

Evran's record was, of course, subsequently beaten by Mark Bellingham in 2005/06.

Mark, who can play in either a central or wide midfield position, began his career with Walsall, another of his father's former clubs, where he made over 120 first team appearances between 2000 and 2007, after making his way through the Youth system at Bescot.

A spell with MK Dons followed, where he made 66 appearances and scored 18 goals in a two-year stint, before he moved on to Brighton & Hove Albion and then Bristol Rovers.

Mark moved on to Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2010, initially on loan, but then made the move permanent in January 2011. In all with the Shrews, Mark made 108 appearances and scored 25 goals, including a derby hat-trick against rivals Hereford United.

In September 2013 Mark joined Tamworth, but made just 14 appearances at the Lamb before leaving in January 2014, since when he has taken time out of the game.

We would like to welcome Mark to Stourbridge, and we hope his stay with the club will prove to be as successful as his father's!
