The STOURBRIDGE FC  youth team have lifted the Birmingham County FA Youth Cup after defeating HIGHGATE UNITED 3 - 1 in the Final played at Solihull Moors FC on Monday night thanks to a Craig Tibbetts goal and a brace from Scott Sumner.

After a shaky start Dave King's side settled and they took the lead on the half-hour mark when Craig Tibbetts got behind the Highgate defence after fastening onto a header by Jayke Downing and he found the net with a well-taken goal, clipping the ball over the advancing keeper. Ten minutes later a deflected Scott Sumner strike from just outside the left-hand side of the box made it two and Sumner added a third goal early in the second period. He received an excellent pass from Bradley Meeson in the left channel area and after getting past his marker, he produced a stunning strike to make it 3 - 0. Highgate pulled a goal back with fifteen minutes left with an angled shot from the left-hand side of the area past Sam Pearson, but Stourbridge held out to lift the cup.

Stourbridge: Pearson, Pritchard, Worthington, Kilgallon, Preston, Meeson (C), Belgrave, Sumner, Downing, Tibbetts, Smith

Subs: Nettleford (for Downing), Ayik, Myatt, Paterson, Jones (not used)

Any supporters wishing to travel on board the Youth Team coach are asked to contact assistant manager Gary Brown on 07961 875042.

The STOURBRIDGE FC YOUTH TEAM followed up their triumph in the Birmingham County F A Youth Cup with victory on Wednesday night at Stourport Swifts in the Final of the Worcestershire County Youth Cup. Dave King's side defeated Kidderminster Harriers 3 - 1 in front of a healthy crowd, including a good following of SFC supporters and members of our ladies team.

Stourbridge were given a dream start by Jayke Downing who headed home with just three minutes played. Craig Tibbetts added a second from the penalty spot after 32 minutes, but Harriers pulled a goal back ten minutes from time to set up a grandstand finish. In a dramatic finale the Harriers keeper came up for a stoppage time set-piece that was collected by Sam Pearson and his kick downfield enabled sub Myles Nettleford to run on and tuck the ball into an unguarded net to start the celebrations!

Team: Sam Pearson, Sam Pritchard, Will Worthington, Sean Kilgallon, Matt Preston, Bradley Meeson (Amoum Ayik 85 mins), Ashley Belgrave (David Jones 83 mins), Scott Sumner, Jayke Downing (Myles Nettleford 76 mins), Craig Tibbetts, Liam Smith.

Unused subs: Conor Paterson, James Myatt
