U14 Boys Stourbridge 2-4 Swindon Youth (MFYL)

The first half saw Stour dominate possession and create the better chances with Liam Smart going close when he broke clear down the right only to see the keeper spread himself well and make the save. Lucas Muckley, Jordan Siviter and Connor Rich all had efforts which failed to hit the target. Then Swindon hit on the counter as they went more direct to their impressive striker who raced clear and slotted past the keeper. 0-1

The second half saw Swindon start to create more chances but Stour equalised when Luke Brookes lofted a free kick into the area to find Lucas Muckley free who then chipped it over the keeper. However Stour then lost their shape and discipline for a 10 minute period which saw Swindon score 3 goals to make it 1 - 4. Eventually Stourbridge regained their focus and Connor Rich scored direct from a free kick. Liam Smart then had a chance to make it a nervy end for Swindon but failed to put enough on a chip over the keeper.

The final score was 4-2 to Swindon

U14 Boys Stourbridge FC 1-2 Oadby Owls (MJPL)

Stour welcomed league leaders Oadby Owls to Brown Westhead Park on a bright sunny morning -perfect conditions for football. Stour started much the better and with the visitors playing 3 at the back they used the wings to good effect. However a number of crosses were squandered until an angled ball from Lewis Mitchell on the right found Dan Moore one-on-one with the keeper who pulled off a great save. A clearance from an Oadby corner then saw Connor Lawrence run 60 yards before seeing his shot saved at the near post. Not long after Oadby scored against the run of play when a long ball over the top was slotted home. HT 0-1

Stour again started the 2nd half on top and even though they had a lot of possession they could not find a way past the Oadby keeper and as the half wore on Oadby started to push Stour back and a succession of free kicks eventually led to their second goal with a great strike into the top right corner. Stourbridge were awarded a penalty late on when Lucas Muckley was brought down and Liam Smart stepped up to convert into the bottom right corner.

It ended 1-2 but it was a good performance against a very good side and Stour showed how far they have come as a team as the passing, communication and team work was there in abundance from all 15 players.

U14 Boys Kidderminster Hawks 4- 3 Stourbridge (MJPL)

By half time Stour found themselves 2-0 down after conceding two soft goals in what was a very even half. The second half saw Kiddy bring out their A game as they began to play some very good one and two touch football which saw them add two further goals within the first 10 minutes. 4-0 With 20 minutes left Stour began to fight back with a stunning 25 yarder out of nothing from Connor Lawrence. He picked the ball up in the middle of Kiddy half and as the defence backed off, his right foot shot hit the back of the net via the top left hand corner. Liam Smart and Alex Gordon then scored in quick succession to make it 4-3 and ensure a nervy end for Kiddy who held out to win.

U14 Boys Stourbridge 3-1 Archdales (MJPL)

After a 5 week lay off Stourbridge were eager to get this match underway and it took the first 13 minutes to knock the cobwebs off as Archdales dominated possession and pinned Stour in their half but failed to make any clear cut chances. On 13 minutes a quick counter saw a Dan Moore shot fumbled by the keeper into the path of Liam Smart who was quick to react and slot home from a few yards out. Not too long afterwards a similar situation saw a Connor Rich shot blocked then finished well by Lucas Muckley .At half time Archdales made a few changes and they started the stronger, managing to get it back to 2-1, but as they went after the equaliser and pressed higher up the pitch, space began to appear at the back which was exploited when Connor Lawrence put Liam Smart through for his second goal to make it 3-1.

Brackley Town 0 Stourbridge 3 (MJPL)

Stour travelled to Brackley to be greeted by a part frozen pitch but with the sun out and pitch starting to thaw, a decision was made to kick off at 11:30 am. Stourbridge were on top from the start with Brackley struggling to get out of their half. Connor Lawrence put Stour in front when he latched onto a Jordan Siviter shot which was well saved by the keeper but fell into his path and his shot was fumbled into the goal by the keeper.

Lucas Muckley then raced down the left channel onto a Connor Rich through ball and slotted low past the keeper into the far corner. Midfield continued to dominate the game with good runs down either flank from Dan Moore and Ashley Conlon who were well supported by the full-backs of Jack Bodak-Derry and Lewis Mitchell. Brackley had their moments with a shot cleared off the line and a couple of other shots missing the target.

The second half saw more attacking intent from Stourbridge but two clear cut chances in the six yard box somehow managed to go over the bar then Conlon crossed from just inside the box for Marco Zaffino to head in at the far post. More opportunities came and went, but all in all a good display and a lot of football played utilising the full width of the pitch. Brackley tried going straight over the top to feed their handy striker but he was well marshalled by Alex Gordon and Luke Brookes at the heart of the defence.
