U15A Stourbridge U15s 3 Hinckley United 1 (MJPL) Stourbridge took a well-earned 3 points against a very good Hinckley side that in my opinion are probably the best passing side we have played this season. Stour opened the scoring on what must be a MJPL record of 7 seconds with Calvin Campbell charging down a back pass from the kick off and creating his own chance to put us 1-0 up. The game was quite open with the wide open spaces of Enville Hall allowing Hinckley to get their pass and move football going and Stour having to press their opponents quickly and try and open up Hinckley with their own passing game. On 25 minutes this worked well as Stour broke quickly down the left and the impressive Liam Snape played a slide rule pass down the channel for Jamie Chetwood to finish over the on- rushing keeper. A 3rd was added on 58 minutes when Liam Snape profited from a bit of a scramble to hit home. Hinckley got a goal back 5 minutes later however when a free kick was cleared but the 2nd ball dropped for a Hinckley player to hit home through a crowd of players. Further chances for Stour weren't taken late on but we had done enough to secure the win. U15B Stourbridge 4 Wordsley Wasps 0 (SDFL) A well maintained first half with Matthew Nicklin drawing first blood with well earned goal to put us 1-0 up at the half way stage, then we came alive in the second with an excellent goal slotted in at the near post by Travis Stringer then Wordsley gave away a penalty which was calmly tucked away by Cory Grey and finally there was a debut goal from our latest signing Robert Johnson whose volley found the top right hand corner - a nice start to his time at Stourbridge.
