The Spencer Stadium hasn't been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Glassboys since we won promotion to the Premier Division and so it proved again on Saturday. For the third game in a row we found ourselves trailing to an early goal with Danny Edmond turning and squeezing a low shot inside Lewis Solly's right-hand post after 5 minutes. Stourbridge drew level after 25 minutes when a 25-yard shot from Leon Broadhurst rebounded off the foot of the post and Sam Rock was on hand to turn the ball home. Stourbridge enjoyed a good spell with John Griffin forcing Andrew Kemp into a good save down to his left, but Banbury regained the lead seven minutes before the break through Ricky Johnson who beat Solly with a crisp volley from 20 yards. Banbury extended their lead seven minutes after the break with Josh Blake following up to head a third goal for the hosts after Solly had pulled off a good save from Edmond. Stourbridge tried to respond with Kemp saving well from a Sam Smith header and again later to keep out a low Mark Danks shot, but Lewis Solly was also called into action to produce an excellent save from a first-time volley from Johnson. Banbury wrapped up victory with a second goal of the afternoon from Johnson in stoppage time as he cracked home a shot after another good save from Solly.
