Stourbridge will aim to build on Saturday's narrow in at AFC Bridgnorth when they visit another West Midlands League side, Bewdley Town, this Tuesday evening. Kick-off on the banks of the River Severn is at 7.30 pm.
Bewdley finished 17th in the WML Premier Division table last season, enduring a difficult season, but will be hoping for better fortunes in the coming campaign.
The Glassboys have played friendlies at Ribbesford Meadows in two of the past three seasons, winning 7-0 in 2012, and 5-0 twelve months ago, but the encounter that will be remembered most by Stourbridge supporters was a much closer and more tense affair in the 2011/12 FA Cup.
The First Qualifying Round tie saw the team ranked three levels below the Glassboys take a surprise, and deserved, first half lead, and for a long time it seemed that they would hang on to that advantage. However, goals in the last 20 minutes from Leon Broadhurst and Aaron Drake eventually kick-started a Cup run that would culminate against Stevenage at the War Memorial Ground, but only after "that" night at Amblecote against League Two Plymouth Argyle.
For those supporters who have not been to Bewdley before, we would encourage you to make the effort to get to one of the more picturesque grounds we are likely to visit this season. And we would also advise you to get there early as parking at the ground is limited.
