2017/18 Fixtures Released!

1 week ago By Richard Clark

The Evo-Stik League Premier Division fixtures have been released this morning, and there is plenty for Glassboys fans to look forward to!

The season kicks off on Sunday 13th August (due to a clash with cricket at the War Memorial Ground) with a repeat of one of last season's stand-out games, a home clash with Matlock Town. Last season's encounter ended 5-3 to the Glassboys, with seven goals packed into a thrilling first half. NB. The kick-off time for this fixture is to be confirmed.

We follow this up with a visit to Coalville Town on Tuesday 15th August, and then the long trip to Whitby Town on Saturday 19th August. Whitby, incidentally, have the misfortune of having to make the reverse journey on Saturday 23rd December, just two days before Christmas.

Our first home midweek game will be on Monday 21st August, against Nantwich Town, another fixture which has traditionally produced its fair share of thrills and spills.

The "Number 9" Derbies against Halesowen Town will this season be played on Saturday 7th October (home) and Saturday 31st March (away), whilst the Boxing Day and Easter Monday opposition will be Stafford Rangers - away at Christmas and at home over Easter.

August Bank Holiday Monday will see us travel to Rushall Olympic, with the reverse fixture taking place on New Years Day, Monday 1st January.

Amongst other notable fixtures, we will entertain newcomers and Non-League giants Altrincham on Saturday 20th January, having already travelled to their Moss lane home on Saturday 14th October, whilst the other relegated club, Stalybridge Celtic, will come to Stourbridge on Saturday 14th April, after hosting us on Saturday 9th September.

The final League match of the season will be at home to Warrington Town on Saturday 28th April.
