We can confirm that Chris Lait has accepted an offer to move to National League side Solihull Moors for the 2017/18 season.

Winger Chris joined the Glassboys in early 2015 and made a total of 98 appearances (90 starts and 8 as a substitute), scoring 22 goals.

His play was characterised by the ability to take on and beat defenders, and his surging runs from his own half frequently lifted the crowd and the team.

Last season unfortunately saw Chris's involvement restricted by injury and illness, and he consequently found it difficult to capture his best form much of the time. However, he played a significant part in the Glassboys' FA Cup adventure, scoring at Mickleover Sports in the Second Qualifying Round, and then lashing in the opening goal in the 3-0 replay win at home to Whitehawk in the First Round Proper.

Chris missed a large part of the latter stages of the campaign, and his final appearance in a Stourbridge shirt came as a late substitute in the 5-3 home win against Matlock Town on 4th March.

We would like to thanks Chris for his contribution whilst with the Glassboys, and we wish him all the best for the future.

A MESSAGE FROM CHRIS LAIT -

I would like to thank the supporters, players and backroom staff at Stourbridge FC for their support over the last two-and-a-half seasons. There have been some unforgettable moments during this period, including the F A Cup First Round win away to Dover and last season's historic run to the third round proper.

Unfortunately my time at the club has come to an end. I'm gutted that we couldn't secure promotion at the end of what has been a tough season for me with injuries, but the club is on the right path and it is only a matter of time until it makes the jump up to step 6.

I will always keep a close eye on and look out for Stourbridge's results and I am convinced that, with the chairman, excellent coaching staff and playing squad currently in place, next season will be a successful one for the club.
