Stourbridge boss Gary Hackett has provided an update on his progress in assembling the first team squad for 2018/19. (READ ON)

Earlier this month it was confirmed that DARRYL WESTLAKE and JAKE EVANS had signed contract terms for 2018/19, while goalkeeper MATT GOULD would be moving on after the Birmingham Senior Cup Final as he was relocating north.

Four more of last season's highly successful youth team side will be stepping up into the first team mix once pre-season gets underway with defender JAMES TIMMINS, striker ALEX CAMERON, goalkeeper PETER HAWK and wide midfielder TOM EDMONDS-HILL all making the move into senior football after impressing in the youth ranks.

Gary has also confirmed that following the end of the season terms for the new campaign have since been agreed with the following players -

ARIS CHRISTOPHOROU
PAUL MCCONE
BRAD BIRCH
LOUIS HALL
KAIMAN ANDERSON
JACK DUGGAN

Gary has advised that LUKE SHEARER has been released and the club would like to thank Luke for his contribution last season, particularly in us going on to lift the Birmingham Senior Cup. We wish him well for the future.

Talks are continuing or set to take place with other members of last season's squad, while the search for a new goalkeeper is ongoing.

Gary has also confirmed that sports therapist RICHARD DREWETT will be returning to the Stourbridge dug-out once the new season gets underway.

Gary remarked: "I'm pleased to have retained Kaiman. I don't think we always saw the best of him last season as he was struggling a bit with an injury, but I believe that fully fit, he has a lot to offer."

He added: "We know what Jack offers and we need him to get a good pre-season under his belt."

UPDATE - Brandon Hague will now be pursuing an opportunity elsewhere. It goes without saying that we really wish him all the best and hope he gets the luck he deserves to stay fit and healthy and gets back to the form he is capable of.
