MATCH PREVIEW

The Glassboys will be out to complete a league double over Hitchin after defeating them 3 - 0 at the War Memorial Athletic Ground back in mid-November, although two stoppage time goals did give the final score-line a flattering look. Greg Mills scored early in the second-half and then near the finish Hitchin were reduced to ten men when Edwin Mensah received a second yellow card. Broadhurst and Mills both scored in time added on at the end as Stourbridge capitalised on their man advantage.

Paul McCone is in line for a return after recovering from illness, however James Wren and Aris Christophorou are serious doubts for the Glassboys and could well miss out with Niall Maher on stand-by to take over between the sticks again after performing well during the busy festive schedule.

The home side currently lie in the relegation zone as they sit 20th in the table. The Canaries have collected 20 points from 24 league games so far (won 5, drew 5 and lost 14). A run of four wins in a row in December saw the Hertfordshire side climb briefly to 17th in the table, however a poor festive period and start to the new year has seen Mark Burke's slide back into trouble following seven successive losses meaning that the latest Form Charts for both the last six or eight games have the Glassboys at the top and Hitchin at the bottom, but of course football isn't that straight-forward and the visitors will need to be as strong and professional in approach as they were at Bedworth earlier this month.

This will be the Glassboys fifth visit to Top Field, but the first since April 2014 as Stourbridge were switched to the NPL soon afterwards.
