The Glassboys are pleased to welcome back 21-year old forward JORDAN MURPHY on contract terms for the 2017-18 campaign.

As many of you will be aware, Jordan came through the youth ranks at Stourbridge initially and was regularly amongst the goals. The 2013-14 season saw him hit 39 goals as our youth team won the MFYL Premier Division South title and lifted the Worcestershire County Youth Cup. Jordan also made two appearances as a substitute for the first team in home games against Bashley and St Albans City.

His exploits attracted the attentions of league scouts and after impressing in trials, he was signed by Walsall in September 2014. Soon afterwards he was loaned out to Worcester City where he featured in their memorable F A Cup run that saw them defeat Coventry City away before taking Scunthorpe United to a replay in the following round where Worcester lost 14-13 in a penalty shoot-out!

After returning to Walsall, the pacey attacker made his Saddlers first team debut in February 2015 as a substitute in a home league game against Port Vale. He also scored twice as Walsall beat Chasetown 4 - 3 after extra-time to lift the Walsall Senior Cup in April 2015.

The following season saw Jordan join Kidderminster Harriers on loan in October 2015 and he notched twice in seven appearances. He then returned to Worcester City for a further loan stint at the end of January 2016.

After being released by Walsall at the end of the 2015-16 season, Jordan linked up again with Kidderminster for the following pre-season and scored the only goal of the game on his return to Amblecote as Harriers won here in the Worcestershire Senior Cup in July 2016. He helped Kidderminster to lift the County trophy later that month, but was then surprisingly not retained by the club and Jordan subsequently joined Worcester City in the National League North for the remainder of last season.

Jordan struggled for consistency for a time and was in and out of the side at Worcester, but as financial restraints hit the club earlier this year, he relished the opportunity to play further forward and more through the middle in the final months of the season, but although he chipped in with some useful goals, he couldn't prevent Worcester from finishing in the relegation places.

Welcome back Jordan!
