[b]MATCH PREVIEW

Two significant wins for the Glassboys at home against Biggleswade in the league and Halesowen in the Birmingham Senior Cup this week have helped lift the gloom that had descended following three losses in a row.

Stourbridge look to keep that momentum going as they take on a St Neots side in transition. The Saints, making their third ever visit to Stourbridge, have a new man at the helm with Marc Abbott arriving from Haverhill Rovers to take charge of the team and they are now putting their faith more in youth following recent budget cuts that led to several of their more experienced players moving on.

The Glassboys will not need reminding that they have tasted defeat in recent weeks to two other teams lying in and around the relegation places, Hitchin Town in January and then a fortnight later, Lowestoft Town, so they cannot afford to be complacent as they look to keep Kettering Town on their toes.

St Neots currently lie 20th in the league table and have amassed 26 points from 29 league matches so far (won 7, drew 5 and lost 17).

Three weeks ago they picked up a valuable three points with a 1 - 0 win away at Needham Market. A much changed, youthful St Neots side then narrowly lost 1 - 0 at Biggleswade on February 5th but they found Tamworth a sterner test last week with ex-Glassboy Chris Lait scoring twice as the Staffordshire hosts finished convincing 5 - 0 victors.

Marc Abbott has since made moves to bolster his squad and try and bring in some more experienced faces. Defender Joe Hood has joined from St Ives Town, midfielder Joe Sutton has arrived on loan from Histon, while full-back or wide player Harry Beckley has also been added to their ranks.

The two sides met at St Neots at the start of the December with Stourbridge fighting back from a 1 - 0 deficit at half-time to run out 2 - 1 winners with Luke Benbow and Paul McCone on target for the Glassboys.

Stourbridge boss Gary Hackett has named a 17-man squad that contains no surprises with all the players getting some game-time either against Biggleswade or Halesowen and with some encouraging displays on Monday night, he will have some big decisions to make on who gets a starting place.
