Popular winger Matt Dodd has committed himself to Stourbridge for the 2016/17 season.

Matt, who joined the Glassboys towards the end of the 2014/15 season, was an increasingly influential figure last term, with his pace on the right flank causing countless problems for opposing defenders, but saw his season cut short by an injury sustained during the Easter Monday clash with Halesowen Town and his presence was missed as Stour’s promotion charge stuttered at the last.

That Easter Monday game was Matt’s 50th appearance for the Glassboys, during which time he has scored nine goals, including one in the Emirates FA Cup win over Kidderminster Harriers, and the only goal of the game in the shock FA Trophy win away to Braintree Town.

Matt adds to the growing list of players from last season to pledge themselves to another promotion challenge, whilst manager Gary Hackett also hopes to be in a position to announce a number of new signings very shortly.
