Following an FA Appeal Hearing, it has been confirmed that Corby Town will, after all, take the place of Stamford in the NPL Premier Division.

Initially relegated after finishing fourth from bottom, Stamford were reprieved and re-instated into the Premier Division three weeks ago, with Corby being transferred to the Southern League at the same time, as a result of a re-shuffle following Cinderford Town’s decision to decline promotion from Step 4.

However, after an appeal from Evesham United, who were transferred to the Evo-Stik NPL as part of the same re-shuffle, the FA have ruled that the Leagues Committee (the body which decides League constitutions during each closed season) had acted erroneously when allowing Cinderford to turn down promotion. The Gloucestershire club have been placed in the Southern League Premier Division, albeit against their wishes.

As a result, all changes made have now been reversed, with the FA stating that the decision is “final and binding.”

The full Premier Division constitution is therefore now as follows:

Ashton United
Barwell
Blyth Spartans
Buxton
Coalville Town
Corby Town
Frickley Athletic
Grantham Town
Halesowen Town
Hednesford Town
Ilkeston
Marine
Matlock Town

Spennymoor Town
