The Glassboys got back to winning ways against a dogged Barwell outfit at the War Memorial Ground.

Ryan Rowe's early penalty, given for a trip on Matt Dodd, put Stourbridge ahead, but they survived a scare midway through the half when Matt Gould dived to his left to save Ryan Robbins' penalty, and then spurned a chance to double the advantage close to the break when Jordan Archer broke clear but shot over the bar, whilst Kyle Perry was close to putting Barwell back level as his attempted lob was only just off target.

The visitors were awarded another penalty ten minutes into the second half and this time Perry made no mistake to level things up. Owen Story hit the post shortly afterwards, and then Gould saved well from Tom Bates, but it was Stour who found what turned out to be the winner when the returning Tom Tonks, on as substitute, hurled in one of his trademark long throws which the Canaries defence could not deal with, allowing another substitute, Josh Cooke, to hammer home.

Stuart Pierpoint was forced into a last-ditch tackle to deny ex-Glassboy Jake Heath three minutes from time, and then visiting captain Michael Townsend collected a second yellow card as he tugged back Dodd as Stour saw the game out to move up to second in the Premier Division table.
