MATCH PREVIEW

Gary Hackett's men are in need of a morale boosting victory after three successive league defeats, which included a first home league loss of the season in agonising fashion against Kettering Town a fortnight ago.

These set-backs for the Glassboys have left Kettering Town in a particular strong position at the top of the table and Stourbridge will soon be casting one eye over their shoulders at the pursuing pack spearheaded by Stratford Town if they cannot re-discover their pre-Christmas form.

Stourbridge add defender Jordaan Brown and goalkeeper Niall Maher to the 15-man squad that travelled to Lowestoft last Saturday.

Boss Gary Hackett told the STOURBRIDGE NEWS: "I stated before that we'd always hit a blip at some stage and that's what we've had recently. We had a fantastic run and got ourselves into a really good position, but now a few players are maybe struggling for a little confidence suddenly and that happens in football. It has only been fine margins but it has still set us back. The important thing now is how quickly we come out of it. We have to make sure it doesn't last too long."

"We've trained really well this week and I know the players are determined to put in a good performance this weekend in front of our home fans."

BIGGLESWADE TOWN climbed back into the play-off places with a 1 - 0 home win over a St Neots Town side in transition on Tuesday night. The Waders now lie 5th in the table with 48 points from 28 league games with a record of won 13, drew 9 and lost 6. Too many draws in the early part of the campaign has stopped them from being in even closer touch to the top two.

The Bedfordshire side showed what they are capable of last month when they recorded an excellent 3 - 2 win at Kettering Town, despite playing with ten men for much of the second-half, however successive away losses at Coalville Town and Needham Market has since hindered their progress.

Lee Allinson has done a sterling job at the Waders since taking over the manager's post from Chris Nunn in the summer, having also guided his side to the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Trophy before they lost narrowly 1 - 0 away at big spending National League outfit AFC Fylde having already knocked out higher ranked Wealdstone and Gloucester City.

Stourbridge secured a last gasp 2 - 1 victory away at Biggleswade towards the end of November. Stuart Pierpoint inadvertently headed an own goal past James Wren to put the Waders in-front after 18 minutes, but Greg Mills levelled matters from the penalty spot twelve minutes into the second period before sub Rob Thompson-Brown netted a dramatic last minute winner with a free-kick from an acute angle that flew straight in.

This will be Biggleswade Town's first visit to the War Memorial Athletic Ground for nearly five years. Stourbridge have won both previous meetings at Amblecote, which came in the 2013/14 season. A 4 - 1 victory in the FA Cup 1st Round Proper was followed by a 2 - 1 win in the Southern League Premier Division around four months later.
