We are delighted two confirm another two new signings in the form of central defender Liam Slade and midfielder Kennedy Digie.

Liam, who was born in Stourbridge and will be 22 in May, joins from Halesowen Town, for whom he played in central defence during our 1-0 win at the Grove just under two weeks ago.

He started his career in the Youth ranks at Burton Albion, making two appearances in the Football League, before loan spells at Redditch United, AFC Telford United and Brackley Town. Transferred to North Ferriby United in August 2016, he made 4 appearances for the Humbersiders and then joined Sutton Coldfield Town before moving to the Grove in January this year.

With continued injuries depriving Gary Hackett of Jack Duggan, Stuart Pierpoint, Richard Sho-Silva and then Chris Knight during the pre-match warm-up at Workington on Saturday, Liam will provide some much-needed reinforcement in the defensive ranks.

Meanwhile, injuries have also bitten elsewhere, with Matt Dodd, Chris Lait and Kayelden Brown all struggling for fitness, and Jake Heath having departed for Stafford Rangers, and the arrival of 20-year-old Kennedy on loan from Kidderminster Harriers will be equally welcome.

Kennedy graduated from the Academy ranks at Harriers, signing professional terms with the Aggborough club in late 2014.

He spent much of last season on loan to Hednesford Town in the Vanarama National League North, making over 40 appearances, and has this season had further loan spells at both Halesowen Town and Worcester City. Whilst with the Yeltz he appeared against the Glassboys in the 2-2 draw at the War Memorial Ground in September, and more recently he made six appearances for Worcester in National League North during January and February.

Both players will be in the squad for Monday night’s Evo-Stik NPL clash with Ilkeston at the War Memorial Ground.

Welcome to Stourbridge, Liam And Kennedy!
