We can confirm the signing of versatile player ZAK LILLY on loan from AFC Telford United for the remainder of this season. (READ ON)

All the appropriate paperwork has been lodged with the football authorities and Zak is available for selection at Royston Town this Saturday.

Zak, aged 20, can play in a variety of roles. He is better known as a forward, but this season has successfully converted to being a central defender.

He joined AFC Telford in July 2015 following successful trials having impressed for the AFC Wulfrunians youth team.

He was loaned out to Sutton Coldfield Town in September 2015 and spent a good portion of that season with the Royals.

He then spent a month on loan with Leamington early in the 2016/17 season, making four appearances before returning to the Bucks.

Zak joined Rushall Olympic on loan at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, but injury disrupted his season, although in January 2018 he was loaned out again to Romulus.

Following conversations with Telford boss Gavin Cowan last summer he made the switch to centre-half in pre-season and he has since made three first team starts for the Shropshire outfit and also made four appearances for Tamworth during a month on loan in the lead up to Christmas, scoring once at Stratford. Indeed his Lambs debut came at the War Memorial Athletic Ground in the 1 - 1 draw towards the end of November.

Zak also previously played for the English Schools FA under 18's while studying at Thomas Telford School.

Boss Gary Hackett told the STOURBRIDGE NEWS: "Zak is a player we've been looking at and someone who has been on our radar for a while. He's a versatile player who can play up front or in defence and that will be a great asset for us. He's a player with a lot of ability but has suffered a little due to Telford having a good season, but not having too many injuries."
