Stour put up a brave fight against a very good, strong, physical Romulus in the Joel Richards Memorial Trophy last night.
Despite losing 6-1, Stour stuck to the task and put up good resistance against an academy team who played good football mixed with a strong physical aspect to their game.
Freddie Watts headed in the Stour goal from a free kick to give a little hope when 3-0 down but Romulus continued to victory scoring 3 more goals, 2 of which came in the last 5 minutes with Stour running out of steam.
The last 2 weeks have been hard work against 2 very good academy teams, keep your heads up boys, you have nothing to be ashamed of having put in maximum effort in both games. Don't forget, they train 5 days a week and the majority of their teams are 18 years when we have a very young developing team.
