Stour went down 4-2 to Stratford

Stour went down to a 4-2 defeat last night at home to Stratford.
In a poor display, few players performed up to the expected levels with some showing little passion for the battle. Poor passing and organisation also contributed to the defeat.
Stratford took the lead with a fortunate goal, a rebound off the post coming out to a Stratford forward who shot into an empty net. Brigdale equalised but Stratford immediately restored their lead with a 25 yard effort which should have been closed down. A third was added before the break to make it 3-1. If we thought the break would make a difference, we were disappointed. Stratford increased the lead to 4-1 before skipper Dan Doyle showed the commitment required from the team when he chased a poor back pass and forced the keeper into error, resulting in Mounfield slotting home from inside the box.
A very disappointing night when few players performed. Once again Freddie Watts was as solid as he could be in defence but only one or two others showed the level of commitment required if they believe they may win trophies this season.
