With the roll on, roll off substitute rule in use, both managers took the opportunity to use their full squads to give players match time before the start of the MFYL season next week.

The first quarter-of-an-hour saw both teams settling down in the very humid conditions before Stourbridge took control of the game by hitting 4 goals in a 13 minute spell.

Callum Phipps scored the first with a magnificent volley from the corner of the area from a cross by Sumnell.

The same player added a second 1 minute later when he slid the ball home from a through pass by Welch.

2 minutes further on and it was 3-0, Bevan converting a deft chip into the box from Welch.

The 4th came 10 minutes later when Walker scored from a cross from Carter.

Many changes were made at half time but Stour still retained full control.

In the 58th minute Cassidy, a trialist on for Bevan, dribbled past 3 players in the penalty area and calmly slotted it past the keeper for 5-0.

2 minutes later and Cassidy was on the mark again, Thompson slipped the ball through and Cassidy latched onto it to slide it past the keeper.

A very satisfactory workout for the boys on a very hot and humid evening.

The team travel to The Beeches on Thursday evening for another friendly against Tividale, kick off 7.30pm.
