We are pleased to announce that ANDY FISHER has been appointed as the new manager of Stourbridge Ladies.

Andy takes over from Keith Merrick, who has stepped down after leading the Glassgirls to a third successive promotion, as well as victory last month the BCWL Open Cup Final.

29-year-old Andy enjoyed success of his own last season, leading Kewford Eagles Ladies to the BCWL Division 1 Title with just one defeat in their sixteen matches.

Next season will provide a fresh challenge for both the team and its new manager, as they make the step up into the West Midlands Regional League, but it’s challenge that Andy feels they are more than capable of coping with. “I think we can be more than competitive, and I’m confident of challenging at the top end of the table. Coundon Court [who just pipped the Glassgirls to the BCWL Division 1 Title twelve months ago] went up and have won Division 1 South straight away, so I don’t see any reason to think we aren’t capable of doing the same”, he told us.

“From what I know of the team they are a close-knit group, and that’s a huge asset.

“We can’t wait to have another crack at the FA Cup too. The girls played in it for the first time last season and we’d hope to go a bit further this time.”

Prior to going into management, Andy played for Wolverhampton United in the West Midlands League. He joined the girls section of Hillcrest Ladies in 2004, and then took on a three-year stint with their Ladies team, which subsequently became Kewford Ladies last season.

We would like to formally welcome Andy to Stourbridge FC, and we look forward to him continuing the success of the Ladies team in recent seasons!
