Beck Knight Appointed Glassgirls Manager!

Bek Howell17 May - 07:59

Stourbridge Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Women’s 1st team manager Rebecca (Beck) Knight.

Beck brings with her a wealth of experience from many years playing at the top tiers of Women's football. Although this will be her first venture in to football management her experience levelled with her enthusiasm, drive and ambition will no doubt mean that she has a very successful career in management.

Beck has had nearly two decades in football, competing at different levels of the game. Her journey began at Stoke City, where she progressed through the academy system. Those early years were crucial in shaping her technical ability, understanding of the game, and love for football. Through consistent hard work and determination, she earned a place in the first team, marking an important early milestone in her career.

She continued her development at Leicester City, where she was exposed to a more competitive environment that pushed her to raise standards both technically and tactically.

During her playing career, she gained valuable coaching experience within Coventry City’s academy, supporting the development of young players and helping to nurture the next generation of talent.

Beck commented that a defining chapter of her journey was becoming captain at Solihull Moors, where she stepped into a leadership role.
she said: "This experience added another dimension to my game and strengthened my communication, sense of responsibility and ability to lead both on and off the pitch."

"During my time at Moors, an injury led me to transition into coaching, where I was able to share my knowledge and insight with others while still contributing to the team environment".

Finally our new gaffer said: "I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Stourbridge Women FC. It’s an exciting opportunity and a new challenge that I’m really looking forward to. The club has great foundations, talented players and huge potential. I can’t wait to get started and help drive the team forward next season."

Andy Bullingham Vice Chairman commented That It goes without saying that everyone at the Football club wishes her all the best in the new season ahead.
