Very best wishes to our own Bek Howell, as she takes on the Manchester Marathon next Sunday (14th April), raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Long-time Glassboys fan, former Glassgirls player, and now the Club’s Head of Social Media, Bek is running in memory of her Grandad, who passed away in June 2020 after a long battle with Dementia.

Bek explains why the charity’s work is so important to her.

“For those who know me, and knew my Grandad, you’ll know that he was my best friend and my inspiration for many things within my life, but especially sport and football – he could be found in all weathers watching me play on a Sunday morning and rumour has it that he had the same no nonsense style of play that I inherited!

“Whilst I’m no real runner, I want to push my limits further than ever to hopefully raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society so they can continue the excellent work they do for people with dementia & their families!

“I’ve really been stepping up the training in recent weeks, so I think I’ll be prepared as I possibly can be, but it’s still quite a daunting challenge!

“I want to thank everyone at the Club, past and present players, staff and all the fans for their support so far. If anyone feels able to make a small donation it would be hugely appreciated.”

On behalf of everyone at Stourbridge FC, good luck, Bek!
