Stourbridge featured two new signings in the narrow 1 - 0 win over Alvechurch on Tuesday night, with Alex Jones grabbing the last gasp winner!

Bermudian-born KACY MILAN BUTTERFIELD (pictured) has joined the club from Nuneaton Borough following the withdrawal of the Warwickshire club from the Southern League.

The 6ft 4ins agile midfielder signed for Walsall in the summer of 2016 following successful trials, having been recommended to the Saddlers by ex-Walsall and Bermuda striker Kyle Lightbourne.

Butterfield, who turned 26 the day after making his Stour debut as a second half substitute against Alvechurch, had spells on loan at Leamington and Rushall Olympic during his stint with Walsall

After his departure from the Saddlers in 2018 he linked up with the Kidderminster Harriers Academy, featuring for their under 23's side before progressing into the first team ranks and after making a good impression he inked an 18-month contract in February 2019.

He moved to Chesterfield ahead of the 2020-21 season before being loaned out to Guiseley for a month in December 2020. He was released in June 2021 and subsequently joined Alfreton Town before signing for Nuneaton Borough in June 2023.

Experienced 29-year-old striker ALEX JONES has joined the Glassboys on loan for a month from National League North pacesetters Tamworth after being unlucky with injuries and illness so far this campaign.

He marked his Stourbridge debut with the stoppage time winner against Alvechurch, but he is no stranger to scoring at the War Memorial Athletic Ground having netted twice for WBA in their 2 - 1 win here in the Birmingham Senior Cup Quarter-Finals back in February 2014 on their way to lifting the trophy that season!

The Sutton Coldfield-born 6ft 1ins frontrunner came through the academy ranks at Albion and signed his first professional contract in May 2014. He was released the following year though and joined Birmingham City following a successful trial. He was then loaned out to Grimsby Town for a month in November 2015 before spending the first half of the 2016-17 season out on loan with Port Vale where he netted ten times in 21 appearances.

In January 2017 he signed for Bradford City for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year deal, however injuries hampered his time with the Bantams and in January 2019 he was loaned out to Cambridge United for the remainder of that campaign.

After being released by Bradford City at the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2019, he then spent the following season playing in Scotland for Partick Thistle before returning to England with Northampton Town in March 2021.

In November 2021 he signed for Tamworth and helped them to win the Southern League Premier Division Central title last season. He is now on the comeback trail after injury and looking to get games under his belt with the Glassboys as he looks to get back to his best!

Welcome to both players! We hope they enjoy their time with us and play a significant role in helping us to climb the table!
