The Glassboys are pleased to announce the signing of 31-year old Stourbridge born attacker ALEX NICHOLLS on a contract basis.

Alex has previously enjoyed a long playing career in league football, starting out with Walsall and going on to also play for Northampton Town, Exeter City, Barnet and Crewe Alexandra as well as enjoying a loan stint in Scotland with Dundee United.

After being released by Crewe Alexandra at the end of the 2018/19 campaign, Alex spent some of the pre-season period training with the Glassboys before accepting a one-month contract with Solihull Moors in the National League.

Chairman Andy Pountney said: "We are delighted to get this one over the line as Alex is someone we've been pursuing for a while and it's great that he has now agreed terms with us and hopefully his experience, knowhow and technical ability will serve us well in the months ahead in the same way that Karl Hawley impacted positively on our 2015/16 season."

Alex is eligible to play for Stourbridge in the Emirates FA Cup and he is available for selection against Stafford Rangers in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

Alex has played at the War Memorial Athletic Ground in the FA Cup before as he was a substitute for Walsall when Stourbridge reached the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup for the first time in 2009 and he came on for the Saddlers in the latter stages and hit the crossbar with one effort on goal! Walsall won 1 - 0 on that occasion.

Have been in the professional ranks for around 14 years, Alex has his own page on Wikipedia that can be viewed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Nicholls_(footballer)

Welcome @A1exNicholls to the club!
