MATCH PREVIEW
Stourbridge will be out to build on their confidence boosting three successive victories in the last fortnight. These wins have come against sides struggling at the wrong end of the table though and Ian Long's side can expect a sterner test of their play-off credentials at Keys Park.
The Glassboys will also be out to avenge an early season 3 - 0 loss to Hednesford Town at the War Memorial Athletic Ground. On that occasion Stourbridge were prized open far too easily in the first-half as the Staffordshire visitors built up a three-goal lead inside 39 minutes with Kieran Wells, Danny Glover and Osebi Abadaki the men on target. The Glassboys improved after the interval, however they couldn't find the goal that might have sparked a fight-back as The Pitmen began to sit back more in the second period.
Stourbridge are able to call upon the services of Brad Birch and Chay Tilt again as they have now completed three-match bans.
Stourbridge climbed to 11th in the standings following the midweek win at Alvechurch and they have closed the gap on a number of the sides just above them. That includes Hednesford who currently sit 9th with 42 points from 24 league games. A win for Stourbridge at Keys Park though would see them leapfrog the Pitmen.
Since Christmas Hednesford have won twice, drawn once and lost three times. Their wins have come 'on the road' at Lowestoft Town and Alvechurch, while they have lost their last two home matches against high-flying Tamworth (0-3) and Coalville Town (0-1). The Pitmen managed a 1 - 1 draw at AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday night.
Senior players Danny Glover and Ben Bailey are currently in charge of team affairs at Hednesford following the sudden departures of manager Gary Hayward and his assistant Mark Ward at the start of December. The duo were quickly appointed as the new management team at NPL Premier Division side Buxton FC.
