The Club are delighted to announce the appointment of LEE MILLS as the new manager of our Academy team (READ ON).

Lee has been the Head Football Coach at Dudley College since 2016 and also manages the College affiliate side Team Dudley that operates in the West Midlands Regional League Division 1 - a role he will continue with, but he will also now oversee the management of our academy team that competes in the National League under 19 Alliance on Wednesday afternoons and is run in conjunction with Dudley College.

He will take over the position from Paul Ravenhall and club chairman Andy Pountney commented: "We'd like to place on record our appreciation of Paul's efforts with the academy side this season. He took over the role at short notice in difficult circumstances, with the new academy set-up in its infancy and with the season already a week old and helped bring it together quickly. It's been tricky over the second half of the season for him too because of the postponements suffered by both the academy and youth teams that subsequently led to a fixture backlog and problems over player availability. We're keen to retain Paul's services within the Development Centre and hopefully we will sort that out shortly. In the meantime we wish Lee well in taking the academy forward next season."

Lee, who hails from Mexborough, started out in non-league football with Stocksbridge Park Steels before making the move into the professional ranks with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The striker went on to make over 250 league appearances, appearing also for the likes of Derby County, Port Vale, Bradford City (for whom he played in the Premier League), Portsmouth, Coventry City and Stoke City.

He later spent time with Telford United and Hereford United before bringing the curtain down on his career to move into coaching. He spent a season in charge of Bridgnorth Town in 2010/11 and also had a spell helping to run Ellesmere Rangers. Lee is the holder of an UEFA 'B' coaching license.
