For the second game in a row the Glassboys face a newly promoted side. Peterborough Sports raced to the Southern League Division One Central title, amassing 95 points from 38 games. They finished eight points ahead of Bromsgrove Sporting who were later promoted through the play-offs. This was their third promotion in four seasons having been in the United Counties League Division One as recently as the 2015/16 season.
They won the UCL Premier Division at the first time of asking in 2016/17 before a less auspicious campaign in the NPL Division 1 South followed when Sports finished 12th. The switch to the Southern League for last season proved more to their liking as they romped to the title to earn their place at step 3 of the non-league pyramid.
Peterborough Sports currently sit 15th with five points from four league games. They picked up their first league victory on Bank Holiday Monday with a 3 - 0 win away at Biggleswade Town.
The one and only previous encounter came on September 3rd 2016 when Stourbridge headed to Peterborough Sports for an FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round tie. The Glassboys overcame a poor start to run out 3 - 1 victors as they took their first steps towards what would be a remarkable cup run to the 3rd Round Proper that season.
Tom Tonks would like you all to view the highlights again as an excuse to see his goal from half-way that later made it on to the BBC Sport website!! Dan Scarr and Luke Benbow were our other goalscorers that afternoon.

Tom Tonks and Kristian Green were in the Stour starting eleven while Brad Birch was amongst the substitutes.
