STOURBRIDGE v LEISTON

Saturday's contest is also our junior development centre day and there will be various stalls being run to raise funds. There's likely to be plenty of cakes, sweets and other tasty eatables available!

A penalty shoot-out and a junior coaching demonstration are also going to be part of the afternoon's entertainment!

Junior players and parents/guardians attending with them should use the 2019/20 flexi-ticket books in their possession and present a ticket at the turnstiles to gain entry to the ground.

There will be a bucket collection taking place too to raise funds for @MindCharity

MATCH PROGRAMME

Our glossy 48-page programme costs £2-50 and will be on sale from the Club Shop, located in the foyer area of the Glassboys Bar by the car park and also the Programme Hut by the turnstile block behind the Church End of the ground.

Kristian Green has been interviewed for this issue and there are pieces on the Stourbridge FC Ladies team and the Youth team, along with the usual features.

50/50 DRAW

The more fans that have a go, the bigger the prize pot will be and it is often over £100!

It costs just £1 for a ticket with half the money taken awarded as the prize and the other half going to Club funds. Pick up your ticket from one of our sellers before the game!

The winning number will be announced early in the second period and the lucky winner can claim their winnings from the Club Office by the Players entrance at the end of the match.

PREVIEW

Leiston make only their second visit to Stourbridge. The two clubs met for the first time last season and the Glassboys completed a league double over the East Suffolk outfit.

Stourbridge recorded a flattering 3 - 0 win away at Leiston last December before winning the return fixture here 4 - 0 in March.

After a goal-less first-half, Luke Benbow stepped up in the second period to hit a hat-trick of goals in the space of eleven minutes, including a trademark free-kick to break the deadlock. Greg Mills completed the scoring from another free-kick just before the final whistle.

It's been a tough 2019 so far for the visitors. A poor end to last season saw them slide down the table to finish 19th and they have suffered a tough start to the new campaign having been unable to build on an opening day 1 - 1 draw at home to Coalville Town. They bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup last Saturday at Ware FC with a 1 - 5 defeat.

Leiston are looking for a change of fortunes though and have drafted in three new faces in the last week or so as they seek some improved results.

The Glassboys will have to check on the fitness of Ashley Carter who hurt his ankle at Rushall on Tuesday night, but some good individual displays in that League Cup game mean that the management team have some tough selection decisions to make as several players were rested in midweek, but others staked their claim for more prominent involvement.
