Having received his international clearance, we can now confirm the signing of full back JAK HICKMAN following his return from playing in Ireland.

Jak is a Sandwell-born, 23-year-old full back who likes to get forward. He has also played at wing-back or as a right-sided midfielder.

Jak started out in the academy system at West Bromwich Albion where he spent around eight years before being released at the age of 16.

He joined Coventry City as a youth scholar and landed his first professional contract at the end of the 2016/17 season.

During the 2017/18 campaign he enjoyed two separate loan stints at Mickleover Sports and in March 2018 it was announced that he had agreed a contract extension for a further two years up to June 2020.

In September 2018 he joined then National League North outfit Ashton United on loan for a month and then upon his return he made his first team debut for Coventry City in October 2018 in an EFL Trophy group stage tie against Forest Green Rovers. A month later, he featured again for the Sky Blues, coming on as a substitute away to Cheltenham Town in another EFL Trophy match. He was then loaned out in March 2019 to Hereford FC.

In November 2019 he was loaned out to Bromsgrove Sporting and this was later extended to the end of the 2019/20 campaign. His performances at the Victoria Ground caught the eye.

After being released by Coventry at the end of that season, he subsequently joined Bolton Wanderers on a one-year deal in August 2020. He made seven first team appearances during the first half of the season before falling out of favour amid strong competition for places in his position.

He was loaned to National League club King's Lynn Town in March 2021, but his time there was hampered by injury.

He departed Bolton at the end of his contract and in August 2021 he signed for League of Ireland Premier Division club St Patrick's Athletic for the remainder of their domestic season through to November 2021. On November 28th, he came off the bench in the FAI Cup Final as his side defeated Bohemians FC 4 - 3 on penalties following a 1 - 1 draw after extra-time in-front of a record FAI Cup Final crowd of 37,126 at the Aviva Stadium.
