Nigel Gregg18 May - 14:10

The National League Systems club allocations from steps 1 to 6 were announced on Thursday.

The provisional changes to the line-up in the Southern League Premier Division Central from 2024/25 are as follows -

OUT

BEDFORD TOWN - Promoted to the National League North as champions.
AFC TELFORD UNITED - Promoted to the National League North as play-off winners
LOWESTOFT TOWN - Relegated to the Isthmian League Division 1 North
HITCHIN TOWN - Relegated to the Southern League Division 1 Central
BIGGLESWADE TOWN - Relegated to the Southern League Division 1 Central

Note - BARWELL FC were reprieved from relegation after Farsley Celtic were demoted to step 5 after failing to be awarded a step 1 to 4 club licence.

IN

NEEDHAM MARKET return after one season in the National League North following relegation from step 2.

QUORN are promoted as champions of the NPL Division 1 Midlands. We met the Leicestershire side between 2001 and 2006 during our time in the Midland Football Alliance.

WORCESTER CITY are promoted as the NPL Division 1 Midlands play-off winners. They will be moving into the Sixways Stadium, also the base for Worcester Warriors Rugby, from the 2025/26 season. It is believed that our last league meeting goes back to the 1976/77 season in the Southern League Division 1 North, although there has been sporadic Welsh Cup and County Cup encounters since that time.

REAL BEDFORD will be new opponents for the Glassboys following their recent rise up the pyramid system. Their ground is next door to Bedford Town's! They are promoted as the champions of the Southern League Division 1 Central.

BURY TOWN are promoted as the Isthmian League Division 1 North play-off winners. We have met the Suffolk outfit before as we played each other for three seasons in the Southern League Division 1 North in the early 1970's prior to our title success and promotion in 1973/14 and we also crossed paths again in the 1995/96 campaign after Bury Town were transferred across to the SL Midland Division from the Southern Division.

The line-up is provisional, subject to any successful appeals or late drama elsewhere in the pyramid system. The line-up is formally ratified at the League AGM in June.
