At the entrance of our ground stands The War Memorial Arch which is now a Grade 2 listed building. It was built in 1928 by Geoffrey Ince and donated by Ernest Stevens as a memorial to the local soldiers that lost their lives in World War I.
Remembrance Sunday is this coming Sunday (13th November); however, the way our men's first team fixtures have panned out recently we won't be able to fully pay our respects in the usual manner at the ground before that date, so with the kind support of our opponents, AFC Wulfrunians and the Birmingham County FA we are offering all current and former servicemen and women free entry to our Birmingham Senior Cup 2nd Round tie on Monday, 14th November (7.45 pm) as a token of the Club's gratitude for all those who have served to keep us and our country safe over the years.
All we ask is that servicemen or women planning to come to the game bring any form of ID that confirms they have served in the forces or their Royal British Legion membership with them to show at the Matchday Ticket Office inside the Archway Entrance to the ground to receive an entry ticket. We do hope you can come along to the game and from all of us, thank you for the sacrifices you have all made for us.
The Royal British Legion will be holding a bucket collection at the ground during the evening, and we are hoping to have a bugler in attendance too.
Thank you to AFC Wulfrunians and the Birmingham County FA for their co-operation and understanding.
