The Glassboys were forced to settle for a point after a late leveller from visitors MICKLEOVER SPORTS at Amblecote.

Tom Tonks had given Stour the lead in the first-half and it looked like it would be enough for Gary Hackett's men to record their third straight victory.

However, Andy Dales popped up deep into added on time to give Mickleover a point.

The first half an hour saw both sides battling without creating any real chances. Aris Christophorou did well to block Andy Dales' effort early on before the same man then headed over from a Ben Turner cross.

Stour started to grab control of the match and Luke Benbow drew a save from keeper Lewis King following some neat combination work down the right from Paul McCone and Matt Dodd.

King did brilliantly to push away Benbow's slight flick header from a Tonks free-kick but Stour did take the lead in the 35th minute.

Benbow did well to feed the ball to Tonks on the left-hand side of the penalty area, the midfielder cut in and curled a brilliant effort into the far corner.

Dodd then went close to doubling the lead a minute before the break, smacking an effort against the crossbar after a good pass from Kaiman Anderson.

The second half started very quietly but Leon Broadhurst almost added a second for Stour, heading over from a Tonks long throw in the 67th minute.

Mickleover sub Evan Garnett fired narrowly wide from the right hand corner of the box a few minutes later and Benbow then had an effort well blocked by Sports' John McGrath after fastening on to a precise through ball by sub Connor Gater.

Luke Shearer's cross narrowly evaded Gater for Stour and Leon Broadhurst nodded just wide at the far post from a Benbow free-kick as stoppage time loomed.

A minimum of four minutes were due to be added on, but just after those had been played, Pablo Mills got a header in on goal from a deep cross, keeper Matt Gould parried it and Dales was there to fire home the loose ball.

It was a late hammer blow for Stour and means we remain in tenth position in the Evo-Stik Premier table.

You can listen to reaction from boss Gary Hackett here.
