The Seasiders pulled off an amazing 3 - 1 replay victory away to higher ranked National League North side Gloucester City on Monday evening.
Whitby tweeted at the final whistle - Wow. What a night. 14 fit players. Three of those goalkeepers. A centre half up front and he scored two. A keeper finishing up front (and his chin wasn’t offside miraculously!). Yet we are THROUGH!
Chris Hardy's men had been winning 1 - 0 on Saturday only for Gloucester to score in stoppage time to force a replay to be played just over 48 hours later at Evesham, where they groundshare, but the Seasiders have defied the odds to win the replay, helped by Gloucester being reduced to ten men late in the first-half after a red card.
Whitby will be the fourth team from step 3 of the non-league pyramid that we will have faced in our latest bid to reach the Proper stages of the FA Cup.
Stourbridge have met Whitby Town before having spent four seasons with them in the NPL Premier between 2014 and 2018. They were actually our very first opponents after we were switched from the Southern League in 2014.
We will head to the Turnbull Ground on Saturday, 19th October and coach travel information will be provided shortly.
