[b]MATCH PREVIEW

With Stourbridge holding a one-point lead over their Norfolk visitors, victory for Gary Hackett's men or even a draw will be good enough for the Glassboys to secure second place and possible home advantage in the Divisional play-off final on Monday, 6th May – if we come through Wednesday’s home semi-final first!

A win for the Linnets though would see Ian Culverhouse’s side leapfrog above us and give them first crack at potentially hosting the Divisional final.

King's Lynn Town were beaten in last season's Southern League Premier Division Play-Off Final by Slough Town, but having gone so close to promotion they were regarded by most as amongst the favourites to be title contenders in the newly created Premier Division Central.

They underwent a change of manager in the summer soon afterwards with Ian Culverhouse leaving and subsequently pitching up at Grantham Town. Simon Clark took over at the helm, however the Linnets made a slow start to the new campaign and he was axed with King's Lynn sat in 19th place after six games and facing an FA Cup replay with lower ranked Histon.

Neil Fryatt and Robbie Back sowed the seeds of recovery during their interim spell in charge before Culverhouse made a shock return to the Walk's Stadium at the start of November.

The arrival of potent former Stevenage and Lincoln City striker Adam Marriott in October, coupled with the return of Culverhouse a few weeks later, has inspired the Linnets to leap up the league standings, although they never had a chance of mounting a serious push for the title. They have held 3rd place for some time, but have narrowed the points gap to Stourbridge recently with a run of seven wins, one draw and two defeats in their last ten league games.

Stourbridge travelled to King's Lynn Town at the start of September and came away with a narrow 1 - 0 win thanks to an Aaron Forde goal just before half-time, so the Glassboys have the opportunity of completing a league double over the visitors.

The Glassboys boast an excellent home league record with 14 wins, 5 draws and just 1 defeat at the War Memorial Athletic Ground - that being the heart-breaking stoppage time loss to Kettering Town in January.

King's Lynn have managed 10 wins away from home with four draws and six losses. They haven't been beaten at the Walk's in the league since the Stourbridge game.

Midfielders Leon Broadhurst and Aaron Forde, along with striker Luke Benbow, sat out Monday's stalemate at Rushall, but boss Gary Hackett hopes they will be fit to face the Linnets and they will be assessed beforehand.
