PREVIEW
It's just over a week-and-a-half since Stourbridge made the long trip to the Suffolk coast to face the Trawlerboys. The Glassboys slipped to a narrow 2 - 1 loss at Crown Meadow and were left frustrated at coming home empty-handed.
It's been all change since then with the departure of Ian Long and some of his backroom team on Monday.
Alex Nicholls took charge of the side at Royston on Tuesday night, supported by Lee Brown and James Wren with Gavin Blackwell still on board too as physio and they will again oversee the running of the team against Lowestoft today before Mark Yates and Neil Howarth subsequently assume control of team affairs.
Andre Landell picked up an injury at Royston on Tuesday that will need assessing, however recent signings Kieran Morris and Darragh Bustin are available for selection.
Despite the recent set-backs and managerial change, Stourbridge remain firmly in the play-off mix and a strong end to the season could still see them finish inside the top five, however the Glassboys need to quickly get back into the winning habit.
This will be Lowestoft's third visit to Stourbridge. Back in January 1972 the two clubs played out a goal-less draw in the FA Trophy 1st Round with Lowestoft winning the replay 2 – 1 three days later. We didn’t meet again until early in November 2018 when Stourbridge gained a 3 – 1 victory here at Amblecote. Greg Mills scored twice for the Glassboys with Aaron Hayden grabbing the third goal with Connor Deeks replying for the visitors.
Lowestoft followed up their win over Stourbridge with a 2 - 0 victory at home to Stratford Town last Saturday before losing 3 - 0 at Biggleswade Town in midweek. They lie 16th in the table with 38 points from 31 games. In 15 away matches, they have won four times and suffered 11 defeats.
