PREVIEW -

Stourbridge were dealt the toughest possible draw at this stage of the FA Trophy last season when handed an away tie at Kettering Town, which the Glassboys lost 2 - 0.

We now make our entry into the 2019/20 competition and this season's 1st Qualifying Round draw hasn't been much kinder than last season, although we do at least have home advantage this time.

Nuneaton will travel with heightened confidence though after a 3 - 1 win at rejuvenated Bromsgrove Sporting recently to earn a much needed victory on the road,

The Glassboys were on the wrong end of a 4 - 0 score-line in the league last month at Nuneaton, but this FA Trophy 1st Qualifying Round tie provides an opportunity to avenge that heavy loss.

Supporters will not need reminding that ex-Glassboys Callum Powell and Joel Kettle and of course Luke Benbow could be in the visitors line-up.

The Glassboys will be hoping that Benbow 'is not on fire!!' on his return to the War Memorial Athletic Ground where he enjoyed three stints.

Stourbridge boss Ian Long is able to call upon recent signing Josh Ezewele. The signing from Alvechurch is free to play for us in the FA Trophy, but is cup-tied in the FA Cup.

Winning clubs receive £2,450 in prize money and losing clubs get £800.

If scores are level after 90 minutes, the tie goes to a replay on Tuesday, 5th November at Liberty Way.

The winners will host LANCASTER CITY in the 2nd Qualifying Round. They are currently 3rd in the NPL Premier Division.

The current holders of the FA Trophy are AFC FYLDE. They defeated Leyton Orient 1 - 0 in the Final last May.
