First Stour goals from Luke Shearer and Kyle Perry gave Stour a 0-2 lead at the break and second half strikes from Aaron Forde and Josh Cooke sealed the win.
It took Gary Hackett’s men just three minutes to get on the scoresheet. Forde did well and his ball found Shearer who fired into the net.
Sutton recovered from that setback and Matt Gould had to be alert to save ex-Glassboy Danny O’Callaghan’s header from Gurjit Singh’s left-wing cross.
Singh then hit the crossbar with a 20-yard free-kick but Stour got the important second goal in the 38th minute.
A loose pass from O’Callaghan allowed Josh Green to feed Shearer on the left and his low ball into the box was side-footed home by Perry.
After a quiet start to the second half, Sutton’s Reece Webb tested Gould with an angled shot from the left-hand edge of the penalty that the keeper was equal to.
The Glassboys put the game to bed in the final eight minutes. Forde made it three in the 82nd minute, dribbling into the left-hand side of the box before tucking away a low shot.
Then substitute Cooke, who had replaced Green with a quarter of an hour to go, got in on the act, finishing well in the 90th minute following Kennedy Digie’s nice reverse pass.
The victory ensured the Glassboys move up to seventh in the Evo-Stik Premier after securing consecutive clean sheets for the first time this season.
