The winners of this tie will compete in the FAWNL Cup competition with the losers joining the FAWNL Plate competition.
There have been a number of changes to the format of this year's Cup competition. There are more rounds within the cup and, for the first time, there is prize money for the winners and losers of each round in order to cover things such as travel costs and further expenses with this round being played midweek to allow for more weekend league fixtures to be played. As a result, this round has been structured to reduce traveling for sides involved in the competition.
The FA WNL has also announced it will be forming a new relationship with the Professional Game Academies from the new season, with PGA sides invited to enter the FA WNL Plate. The move will grow and strengthen the existing relationships between the Barclays Women’s Super League, Barclays Women’s Championship and FA Women’s National League, whilst boosting player development opportunities and giving young players more competitive senior minutes.
Boldmere St Michaels currently play in tier four of the FAWNL system in the division one midlands having previously enjoyed tier three football. They finished fourth last year and will be looking to build on that this season under new manager Karl Henry who is an ex professional footballer, clocking up over 250 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The fixture will be played during the week commencing 26th of August and we will share the confirmed details across social media as soon as we have them.
