After five matches away from Amblecote, it's a case of "Home Sweet Home" on Tuesday night when we entertain Stafford Rangers. Kick-off is at 7.45 pm.
We very much look forward to welcoming our visitors perhaps surprisingly for the first time since the two teams were members of the Southern League Western Division in 1999/2000, when they departed with a narrow 2-1 on their way to the Title and promotion back to the Premier Division.
For the Glassboys the situation was very different as a season that had got under way with a 7-2 defeat at Marston Road in the second game, following on from an opening day 4-0 reverse at Evesham United, culminated in relegation to the Midland Alliance.
From that successful season, Stafford continued to rise back up the pyramid, winning a place in the new Conference North in 2004, and then being promoted into the Conference top flight for the first time in 11 seasons in 2006. However, the good times did not last and Stafford were relegated after two seasons, and then again into the Northern Premier League in 2011 before dropping further just over twelve months ago into the NPL Division 1 South.
Last season saw the club stablise somewhat, and they only narrowly missed out on a play-off spot, finishing 6th in the table.
