The Leicestershire hosts completed a league double over Gary Hackett's men as the Canaries battled back from a one goal deficit at the break to run out victors with two second-half goals. The match proved to be the proverbial game of two halves. The Glassboys enjoyed the advantage of the slope in the opening half and they produced some neat football at times, but only had one goal to show for their efforts at the break - a fine 33rd minute strike from Drew Canavan who was found by a sweeping crossfield pass by Luke Benbow and he ran on to shoot home with a low shot from just outside the box. Prior to that, Benbow had hooked a 24th minute effort narrowly wide for the visitors, but Barwell threatened just before the interval with Lewis Solly producing a save down to his right to keep out a Tom Bates free-kick.
The experienced home side began to push the Glassboys back in the second period and on 58 minutes Solly made a good tip-over save from a Bates shot from the left-hand side of the box. The visitors replied four minutes later with home custodian Denham Hinds forced into a smart save down by his left-hand post to save a Leon Broadhurst effort, however in the 65th minute Barwell drew level. Bates floated in a free-kick and Solly was drawn off his line, but it was Luke Barlone who got to the ball first to send a header into the net. Barwell pressure told again with nine minutes to go with Justin Marsden nipping in to snatch the winning goal.
