Buoyed by three successive wins, Stourbridge went on the offensive from the start in a lively opening to proceedings. In the second minute Sean Evans poked a low shot straight at Eagles custodian Ian Brown from the left-hand side of the box and then a minute later a rasping 30-yard drive from Jordan Fitzpatrick flew inches wide of Brown's right-hand post. Bedford responded and they thought they had taken the lead on five minutes when Dean Coleman could only parry a 20-yard drive from Ollie Wilkinson as he dived away to his right and Nick Beasant collected the loose ball before touching it back for Will Green to find the net, however Beasant had strayed offside when the initial shot came in and the assistant's flag came to the home side's rescue. Stourbridge continued to make more of the running though and in the 15th minute a ball forward by Nathan Bennett was taken down well by Luke Benbow before he struck an angled low shot that Brown was able to save. Sixteen minutes later Sean Geddes went close from a free-kick from 20-yards out and then three minutes before the break a Bedford corner was cleared by Jamie Oliver who found Ben Billingham. He, in turn, fed Drew Canavan on the right who advanced before squaring the ball cross field into the run of Benbow through the left channel area. He drove into the box before seeing his low shot saved by Brown at his near post.
The visitors grew stronger after the break and they struck a decisive blow in the 62nd minute when Will Green slipped a measured pass through the heart of the home defence to put Beasant through on goal. He managed to round Coleman just outside the box before tucking the ball into an empty net. The Glassboys stuttered after that although eight minutes later Stourbridge almost got back on level terms as Jamie Oliver floated a ball in from the left and sub James McPike turned his close range effort against the crossbar. Bedford hit back three minutes later and after a corner from Steve Kinniburgh was only half-cleared, Josh Green drove in a shot goalwards that Geddes managed to head to safety. With the clock ticking down, Stourbridge pushed hard in search of a late equaliser and forced a stoppage time corner that led to a scramble in the box. Nathan Bennett had a shot blocked and with the visitors struggling to get the ball away, Drew Canavan hit a low drive from the edge of the area that Brown got down to save to ensure his side held out for maximum points.
