Stourbridge have snapped up central midfielder NATHAN HAYWARD from league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting.

Nathan links up with the Glassboys for a second time. The 28-year old previously joined us in July 2015 and featured in our pre-season matches, including the home friendly games with Stafford Rangers and Lye Town. He came on as a substitute in our 4 - 0 opening day loss at Whitby Town in the NPL Premier for his one and only competitive appearance before leaving due to personal circumstances.

Nathan, who is good friends with Brad Birch, began his career as a trainee at Birmingham City before linking up with the Kidderminster Harriers youth team. Some fine displays led to him being called up into the first team during the 2008/09 season and he made 14 senior appearances before being loaned to Redditch United towards the end of the 2009/10 campaign.

After being released, he began 2010/11 with Malvern Town before moving on later that season to Stourport Swifts. Subsequent spells then followed at Littleton and Westfields. He started the 2014/15 campaign with Littleton before signing for Bromyard Town in November 2014, but he re-joined Littleton early in 2015 prior to his short stay at Amblecote later that summer.

The competitive and energetic midfield man later became a key player back at Malvern Town before signing for his hometown club Worcester City in MFL Premier Division in the summer of 2017. A year later he moved up a level to sign for Bromsgrove Sporting ahead of the 2018/19 campaign and Nathan has since gone on to produce some of the best football of his career at the Victoria Ground. He made over 40 appearances last season as Bromsgrove Sporting won the Southern League Division One Central play-offs to gain promotion to step 3 and he has again been a regular feature of their midfield this season.
